Zinno Wins 2013 Borgata Poker Open

With final six players, the winner of 2013 World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open was won by 32 year old Anthony Zinno. Anthony Zinno, a poker player from Cranston, Rhode Island defeated Pokerstar Vanessa Selbst and stood first place by winning a cash prize of $825,099. His name is added to the WPT Championship cup. On the fifth day of the Borgata World Poker Tour, Anthony headed towards the largest winning cash prize of his career.

He entered the final table third, with two chip leaders, Selbst and Cong Pham and along with three other competitors, but he played so well even without giving a chance Vanessa Selbst to become the first woman to win the WPT Championship. It was an outstanding battle to defeat Vanessa  winning the championship. There were almost 25 million chips in play and in spite of that, Anthony made the action in Atlantic city.

Out of total 1,189 entries which were made in the World Poker Tournament, Anthony blew away the cash prize money. He finished the fourth place in card player poker tour Venetian main event. In 2013, Anthony has made 13th place in overall standing with 2,192 points and $935,842 earnings. It was the only hardship he has to overcome to capture this title. Anthony has earned nearly half million through live tournaments and this is his first win on the sanctions tournament circuit. Through this championship he took home double cash prize than from previous tournament winnings and he himself have said that it was really a big win for him.

Anthony’s ace was held up with Vanessa’s king on the last hand before he took the championship. After winning the tournament title in his name will be engraved on WPT Champions cup. Anthony will return back to host the Borgata event which is going to held in 2014.
